Marsden Jazz Festival
2017 marked 25 years since the very first Marsden Jazz Festival. The weekend saw more than 150 hours of live music during a glorious three days in our beautiful Pennine village.
Set up in 1992 to support local businesses and bring visitors to Marsden, the festival attracts thousands of visitors every year who make the trip by train, bus, car or narrowboat to experience the unique atmosphere of the festival. A real community venture, each year more than 60 volunteers donate their time to help make the weekend a success.
We are extremely proud to showcase internationally acclaimed artists alongside local school bands and rising talent and it’s this combination of established stars and new talent at accessible prices that we think marks our festival out as special.
“One of the UK's most adventurous jazz festivals” Soweto Kinch, Jazz Now, BBC Radio 3
For our 27th festival we plan to feature more than 20 headliner performances as well as more than 70 free gigs, something we are passionate about. We’re also offering free headliner tickets to all our young performers (aged 18 and under) and introducing a new reduced price ticket offer for under 30s to help bring live jazz to a new audience.
