Please support Liz's half marathon for Africa
I am helping the Association of Anaesthetists to raise funds to support training for anaesthesia providers in Africa in the SAFE project .
Raising money for
We are lucky in the UK to have such high standards of medical training and care. Lack of safe anaesthesia in Africa leads to many unnecessary deaths.
The Association of Anaesthetists is raising money to support its training programme for care providers in Africa.
I plan to run/ jog/ walk the Royal Parks half marathon to raise money for this fantastic training programme which has already trained many health care providers in Africa.
I will be slow - but I am sure I will get there.
Help save lives in Africa through safer anaesthesia.
Around the world people are suffering or dying unnecessarily from the lack of safe anaesthesia in surgery, something that is taken for granted in the UK.
The situation is critical in Africa, where millions lack access to safe anaesthesia.
SAFE Africa is the Association of Anaesthetists fundraising campaign aiming to:
- Raise at least £100,000
- Scale-up the delivery of three-day SAFE obstetrics and paediatrics training courses
- Sustainably improve anaesthesia education and care in Africa in the long-term
Each one of these will go on to treat around 1,500 patients each year.
With your support, we can train even more practitioners and improve the safety of thousands of patients in Africa.
