Raising money for
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)
Welcome to the 3rd annual Hux Crux Challenge. These events are to raise money and aware for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) in memory for a dear friend James Huxley (Hux).
For the past two years we have climbed great heights for your sponsorship money, this year we take on one of Hux's great passions Martial Arts. Join us for 500 Rounds!!!
Hux passed away without warning at the age of only 33 whilst cycling to work in 2015. His sudden death came as a total shock, Hux was an extremely active person who enjoyed martial arts, snowboarding, surfing and had just started climbing. No one would have expected him to be at risk of cardiac issues. We are not only raising money, but also awareness of this danger.
Last year we raised and awesome £4137 in cash and through our online pages with other donations going directly to CRY. This year we would love to make it to £5000!
If you share this page please add #HuxCrux18 to all posts. Many thanks

On 10th November 2018, Born Fit in Camborne are hosting us for 500 ROUNDS.
Hux trained in a number of martial arts and we want to give a flavor of that passion to everyone taking part. We are attempting to complete 500, three minute rounds, that's 1500 minutes!
This event is for ANYONE that wants to take part. If you are a total beginner, you will be provided with guidance and instruction during each round. If you are an experienced martial artist it will be a day of training and endurance, or an opportunity to try something new. In order to meet our 500 round target, we will be running 4 activities simultaneously; kicking boxing, Kali (stick fighting), grappling, and bag work (punch bags). Join in with all activities or pick and choose. Everyone will have different personal challenges, whether that is to step onto a mat for the first time for 1 round, or to try & get 15. The main goal is for overall time spent on the mats and not personal wins. It’s a fun way to get together as a community of people, raise money & awareness for a worthy cause & honor our greatly missed friend.
