London to Dublin Cycle fundraising for SAFE Africa
I am a recently retired consultant anaesthetist.I am passionate about helping to improve anaesthesia in low resource countries particularly in Sub Sahara Africa. People die unnecessarily during surgery in Africa because of lack of anaesthesia training. SAFE Africa educational training is helping to train anaesthetic providers to give safe anaesthesia during surgery. I am cycling with colleagues the 350 miles from London to Dublin (via the Holyhead to Dublin ferry) in order to raise money for SAFE Africa. Please help me by making a donation and help save lives in Africa.
Help save lives in Africa through safer anaesthesia.
Around the world people are suffering or dying unnecessarily from the lack of safe anaesthesia in surgery, something that is taken for granted in the UK.
The situation is critical in Africa, where millions lack access to safe anaesthesia.
SAFE Africa is the Association of Anaesthetists fundraising campaign aiming to:
- Raise at least £100,000
- Scale-up the delivery of three-day SAFE obstetrics and paediatrics training courses
- Sustainably improve anaesthesia education and care in Africa in the long-term
Each one of these will go on to treat around 1,500 patients each year.
With your support, we can train even more practitioners and improve the safety of thousands of patients in Africa.
